LaPlata, MD, July 13, 2011:  Hawthorne Country Club is pleased to announce the opening of a new restaurant, “St. Babes on the Green”, in the clubhouse overlooking the Port Tobacco Valley.

This location will be third restaurant operated by Patrick “PJ” Wilson Jr. of Waldorf, who started with the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC and left the Charles County Department in 1991.  Wilson started the first Babe's Boys Tavern in Waldorf in 2004 after he left the police force, and opened the second location, Babe’s Boys Tavern at the Top, on Marlboro Pike in Upper Marlboro, in 2006.

He named it after his dad, Patrick "Babe" Joseph Wilson, also a former police officer, who played for the Boston Red Sox. "Babe" used to flash his badge to get the neighborhood boys into Washington Senator games, and later on he also took rookie Metropolitan police officers under his wing. And so, "Babe's Boys" was born.

“We are very pleased that PJ has joined the Hawthorne family as the restaurant operator,” commented Lee McClure, Club President.  “We think his track record, enthusiasm for business and great service will play a major part in his success.”
